Mortgage Builder Software, Inc. Unveils Enhanced Secondary Marketing Features

--System improves loan officers’ accessibility to rate sheets--

DETROIT – Oct. 21, 2002 – Mortgage Builder Software, Inc., (MBSI) a provider of complete mortgage lending solutions, announced the release of its enhanced Secondary Marketing package.  The package facilitates the wholesale and retail sale of mortgages in the secondary market.  The package is part of MBSI’s Mortgage Builder Software™ system, a 32-bit Windows®-based software package that is Internet enabled.

“The secondary marketing package allows us to improve the efficiency of our secondary marketing operations in a number of different ways,” said Ken Panosian, vice president of Ross Mortgage.  “The system has been an asset to our organization by improving our ability to manage our secondary marketing operations in a number of areas. For instance, the package enables us to build rates sheets within the system while also allowing us to build in pricing adjustments.  It also helps us manage our operations by tracking loans and tracking marketing gains and losses based on where we sold the loan.  The system keeps track of where we sold the loan, the expiration date and the delivery times.”

The secondary marketing package enables lenders to set up both wholesale and retail daily rate sheets in MBSI’s system.  The rate sheets can then be viewed or printed by the loan officers, and marketing can e-mail the rate sheets directly from the system.

“The enhancements to the Mortgage Builder system provide loan officers with a solution that allows them to circumvent the tedious process of compiling rate sheets,” said Keven Smith, president of Mortgage Builder Software, Inc.  “The system’s features enable

lenders to meet the needs of their customers in a shorter period of time.  By decreasing the time spent finding a buyer in the secondary market, loan officers are able to offer improved customer service and increase the number of customers they are able to see the loan.”

The system also has a “panic button,” which stops the viewing of rates and locks into the system when the market is in a downswing.

Once the loan is locked in, the system will default the price into the loan automatically.  Additionally, the system can make necessary adjustments to the price based on the pricing adjustments set up by the secondary marketing department.

“We designed this enhancement to meet the growing needs of mortgage companies,” said Smith.  “As the market continues to recover, lenders are pressed for time, and this enhancement enables them to work more efficiently.”
