Q: Does Mortgage Builder™ keep my company in compliance with all form changes?
A: Yes. Mortgage Builder Software, Inc. in combination with Financial Forms & Services will make sure all forms are in compliance at all times. Financial Forms & Services is our compliance company. They design all of the forms used in our system. When changes are made to the forms, they are sent to Mortgage Builder for programming and then in turn are sent out on a upgrade to your company.
Q: What type of PCs can your software run on?
A: Mortgage Builder is a client/server based Windows software package. The individual PC's can be running Windows 95, 98, or NT (NT/2K/XP) workstation. On the server, our most popular operating systems are Windows NT (NT/2K/2K3), Unix, and Linux. We can also run across a variety of networks.
Q: Do I have access to the data on my system so I can download it to other software packages?
A: Yes. Mortgage Builder has an export feature that allows you to select the loans you wish to download as well as the fields you would like to see. The information can then be automatically downloaded to Microsoft Word, Excel or directly to a file in your PC. In turn it can then be uploaded into a third party windows software package.
Q: How can I connect my branches to the home office?
A: The three most popular ways of connecting branches are:
- Internet - Connect the main office and all branches to the internet for your normal web and email access, and then you can use this same structure to communicate from the branches to the main office.
- Wide Area Network - with direct leased phone lines make branch connections an extension of your main office's network.
- Dial up modems - allow you to dial in from any PC that has access to a phone line.
Q: Does Mortgage Builder handle yearend reporting like HMDA and 1098?
A: Yes. All HMDA information is collected on Mortgage Builder and downloaded to a disk to submit to the supervisory agency. This information is displayed on a HMDA Detail screen for easy viewing. All county codes and SMSA numbers are maintained by Mortgage Builder. Error reports can also be generated from the system that a user may run as often as they please to make sure loans are being entered properly for HMDA reporting purposes. Year end 1098s are also generated from Mortgage Builder and mailed directly to your borrowers.
Q: What type of reports can I generate from the system?
A: Mortgage Builder provides you with a Report Builder feature that gives you all the functionality necessary to custom design your own reports. You will enter the parameters needed to determine what loans will print on the report as well as how they are sorted and what fields are to be displayed.
Q: How do I receive upgrades to the system?
A: As we all know, regulatory changes are frequent in our industry. Mortgage Builder addresses these changes in software upgrades which ensures that our system will always be in compliance. These upgrades will also include any improvements or enhancements to the Mortgage Builder system that will maximize your investment. Upgrades on Mortgage Builder are released on Cd Rom media and are installed on the server which will upgrade all the clients/PCs automatically.
Q: What type of training and support do I receive with your software?
A: Mortgage Builder Software, Inc. considers training and support the most important factors of any software system. That is why we offer extensive training to all of our customers, either on site or at our corporate headquarters prior to implementation. This initial training is included in the upfront cost of the system. Additional training classes are held on a weekly basis at our headquarters or upon request. The customer support staff at Mortgage Builder Software possesses extensive mortgage lending experience. We can ensure that we will understand your questions and be able to give you the solutions necessary.
